When a new school-year starts, it is also the time to discuss about whether to wear uniforms or normal outfits. It seems to be a hot debate among students because many students are for and the many others are against with the decision to wear the uniform in school.

Everything has its two side effects. In fact, students can take much more advantages than disadvantages when they wear the school uniforms.

1. The advantages of wearing uniforms:

Firstly, school uniforms helps to eliminate the different backgrounds among students. When everyone wears the same clothes in a class, the difference in appearance will no longer exists. There will be no complex from the poor students or over-confidence from the rich ones.

Secondly, wearing uniforms means the school is safer. It is shocking to hear the news that some gangsters break into school and cause the violence or even shoot the students. Uniforms can help to distinguish clearly the gangs or bad people who want to break the peace of education environment and steal school equipment. In some ways, uniforms can enhance the school security.

Thirdly, the students do not need to waste their time on thinking about what to wear before going to school. They will no longer wonder how to wear in the right current fashion trend. The parents also save the money from buying the fashionable clothes for the children because they wear uniforms almost weekdays.

Last but not least, uniforms help the student to identify well with their school. Wearing uniforms is one way students show the pride and love for their school. In addition, a uniform with the school badge on would make a student to be responsible for his action and decision at school. Moreover, putting uniforms on partly helps students enhance the academic achievements.

2. The disadvantages of wearing uniforms:

Beside the benefits, the usage of uniforms can be restrictive on students. Wearing uniforms all weekdays affects the creativity of students; they have less chance to put on the favorite hand-made clothes. Moreover, many students complain that they are limited to express themselves. Some even state that uniforms can be a real factor to prevent their development skills.

Actually, not all uniforms have good quality and long life span because of mass production and cheap price. Some students feel stressed or uncomfortable with school uniforms. They have to wear many pullovers and cover the uniforms outside to keep themselves warm enough during the freezing days in winter.

3. Possible solutions:

It is not too a hard job to deal with the problems of uniform. To develop the students' creativity, a competition where the students create their best uniforms can be organized. The highest prize of the competition will be the school uniform. By this way, students have opportunities to create and have their favorite uniforms. It is great to see all the students wear the same clothes because the image of uniforms is the combination of strengths and school spirits and it is good to not distinguish students from the clothes that they wear.
