If you are like a lot of people, you probably entered college not quite sure what you wanted to do with the rest of your life. Don't worry, most of those entering college will switch their major once or twice, trying to decide which path and career will be right for them.
College is expensive, so it's a good idea to know which accredited online degree program you'd like to take before you ever step foot in a classroom or begin to take online courses. If you're planning on starting classes soon, but still haven't chosen the degree that sounds right for you, consider this list of not only profitable degrees, but degrees that lead to jobs that are readily available, so you'll spend less time job hunting, and more time with your new career.
It is important to remember that a desirable degree is not only one that will net you the highest salary. If you earn a degree in an already crowded job field, though it makes plenty of money, you may have trouble finding work and end up worse off. It is also imperative to look at the job market and see which careers hire straight out of college, so that you do not need to wait for years of internship or experience before you begin your new career in earnest.
Engineering is often good as a lucrative degree choice. Engineers will start with a salary above $50,000 and engineers are always needed, whether Civil or Mechanical. Chemical Engineering also has a high salary starting point with a large job market than most other online accredited degree programs.
Accounting is another degree in high demand of prospective employers. The average account can expect to net around $45,000 per years straight out of college. This goes also for Business Administration majors, as well as Management,
Computer Science and Informational Technology will both start well over $50,000 and both are high degree sought after by employers.
Any of these degrees are great because not only do they make a respectable living, but are in high demand by those employers looking to hire new graduate. Earning a degree is a great accomplish, but the degree should be applicable to getting the graduate a job soon after graduation. Remember to choose a degree program in an area that you love, and one that will lead to a rewarding and fulfilling career for you.
